Why Linen is the
Fabric of Choice
For Natural Living
#1 It's strong. Because the flax plant produces long fibers, this means it is much stronger than cotton and resists breakage. Did you know they even use the fibers in the dollar bill because of it's durability?
#2 Linen is old and it makes us nostalgic. It has a rich and romantic history. It is the oldest textile discovered, which makes sense because it was the most suited for weaving with it's long, strong fibers. To us it represents going back to the basics of quality.

#3 Linen is just plain gorgeous to look at. There's a reason most interior designers use linen in their marketing photo's - it looks absolutely stunning and luxurious. It conveys richness but in a casual and non-pretentious way.
#4 Linen is as natural as it gets when it comes to textiles. It is made from the flax plant, a sustainable material that requires very minimal fertilizer and no pesticide to thrive.
#5 Linen is simple to care for. Don't over-do it with all the modern chemical ridden fabric softeners and smelly dryer sheets. Just keep it simple and your linen will love you! Machine wash in cool water. Let it partially air dry or machine dry on low heat. Whatever you do, shake out those wrinkles before you dry it and don't over-dry or it will become brittle!
#6 Linen gets better with age... like a fine wine. It gets softer and more supple with each wash. After 6-8 washes it starts to feel buttery smooth and will develop an amazing drape. It even has a terroir -- with the best linen coming from Belgium, France, and Ireland because of the perfectly suited climate, soil, and terrain for growing flax!
#7 Linen doesn't pill. Unlike cotton where you get those horrible little beads of fabric on the sheets, this doesn't happen with linen because of the long fibers. This keeps it looking incredible for a long time!
#8 Linen breaths. This allows you to have a heavier, more substantial sheet while still keeping you cool and breezy! It also wicks moisture away from the body keeping you comfortable all night long.

#9 Linen feels substantial. This is what a sheet is supposed to be! It has body and texture and weight that envelops you while still making you feel like you are sleeping in the clouds!
#10 Linen has personality. The wrinkles catch the light in different ways adding visual interest. Every piece has a unique texture giving it a beautiful structure and casual elegance. It manages to have seemingly conflicting characteristics which make it incredibly interesting! - rough and raw and soft and smooth. Delicate and strong. Complex yet simple. In our opinion it can't be beat.
